GBUG have been actively involved since 2017 to ensure the needs of walkers, cyclists and horse riders are met. New dedicated bridges have been secured but concerns still exist navigating the Ockham junction which will take all Wisley RHS and new Wisley Airfield housing estate traffic. A short video overview of what is happening is at www.m25j10pie.highwaysengland.co.uk, if you navigate through to “Cyclist, pedestrian & horse rider routes” (however note there have been some changes since the video was produced).

G-BUG requested and continues to press for:
- Direct routes rather than five A3 crossings from Ripley to Cobham.
National Highways stated the path next to Bolder Mere lake could not be retained, hence, multiple crossings offered, but South Side path to the new bridge is possible using Elm Lane. See photos below. - Traffic signals for walkers, cyclists and horse riders (collectively known as Non-Motorised Users or NMU) at the Ockham junction which will now be very busy taking all Wisley RHS and new Wisley Airfield housing estate traffic.
- NMU path around Ockham roundabout to join Ripley path to Wisley Lane.
- Road markings to state cycle and horse path, especially at Wisley Airfield construction exits.
- Alternative to steel covers in horse friendly path surface.
- National Highways notices about the works to consider NMU routes.
- Another stakeholder meeting to agree final works.
Good news:
- National Highways stated they had secured funds to extend the cycleway into Cobham.
- The new Ockham Wisley Lane has a fence gap and serviceable path to Elm Lane and Ockham Bites cafe.

As part of the A3/M25 works, we welcome the news that National Highways have just secured additional funding to extend the cycle route from the A3/M25 into Cobham. G-BUG have worked with National Highways since concept stage, securing an additional new dedicated bridge for non-motorised users. Unsurprisingly, National Highway’s focus is on highway implementation. G-BUG… - Latest M25/A3 Junction Cycle Track proposals
Highways England have sent the latest plans for the upgraded M25/A3 Wisley Interchange. Of particular interest, the plans show the proposed route for the cycle track (more precisely, the track for ‘Non-Motorised Users’, NMU) beside the A3 from the Cobham/Painshill junction across a new dedicated bridge over the M25 to the Ockham Park junction. Less… - M25 Junction 10 upgrade proposals
Highways England recently held a public consultation on their plans to upgrade Junction 10 of the M25 (ie the junction with the A3). This would include a bigger roundabout as well as widening the A3 in the Guildford-bound direction. The plans included a proposal for a dedicated cycleway alongside the A3 between the Ockham and…
